What happens if I see black screen / no signal?

If nothing appears on your TV or a black screen on Chromecast device. Try the troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Make sure the Chromecast is plugged in using the power cord that came with the device. The Chromecast should be directly plugged in the wall outlet
  2. The LED light on the side of the Chromecast should be lit up
  3. Make sure the TV is in tuned as the Chromecast. On most remotes, it is done using Input, Source, Menu button. You probably have to change through a few inputs until finding the correct one. (e.g. Component, TV, HDMI1 HDMI2 etc…)

Note: if you still see a black screen after completing the step above, reboot your Chromecast.
